The choice of the wing is essential in the selection of a trike. While the trike offers comfort and the engine largely offers capacity and speed, the wing determines the type of flight. The size, profile, wingspan and weight of the wing will influence, among other things, handling, maneuverability, flight safety and performance.

It is important to ask yourself the following questions:

  • what type of flight are you seeking? (Sporty, cruise, tandem, XC…)
  • What type of pilot are you? (Beginner, competitor, leisure, explorer…)

Numerous possibilities are available between hyper-maneuverability to navigate, and land with precision and stable cruising to get from point A to point B as quickly as possible. Not forgetting performance, short landings, passenger carrying, patrol flight…

IPSOS

The IPSOS range is the evolution of the Ghost and Chronos wings, adaptable to practically all existing Trikes. Light and manoeuvrable, these wings are ideal for flying close to the ground and aerial work such as towing hang-gliding or banners, crop spraying, tandem flights, school, photography, cinema. Able to approach and land in improvised places, easy to assemble and disassemble without tools, the wide range of speed and ease of piloting make them ideal wings for bivouac and adventure flights.

SAMSON

Simple and light in structure, the Samson is trully a pleasure to pilot. Designed for a load of 270 kg, the wing is ideal for very light single-seater and two-seater trikes such as the Samson trikes for which it was designed but also for many others. This is the wing that PART 103 was waiting for. It fills the gap between two categories: free-flight wings adapted to the engine, designed for maximum loads of 130 kg, and the very heavy two-seater trikes made for 450 kg. It is light and easy like a hang-glider but can withstand the weight of a trike plus a passenger. Able to slow down to the speed of a paramotor and accelerate considerably when the need arises, its extraordinary handling allows it to maneuver close to the ground and to catch thermals like a hang glider.

ORYX

The ORYX is the range of mastless wings from La Mouette. Available in sizes 14, 16.9 and 19, this model has several advantages: compared to the IPSOS models from which they come, they have, at equivalent size, better finesse (9.5 on carriage for the 16.9), a higher cruising and maximum speed (VNE 167km/h for the 16.9), a height requirement lower than that of a wing with a mast, a characteristic sometimes essential for machine storage in low hangars; the 19 also allows folding and static storage directly on the trike.

To be able to correctly exploit its entire speed range, notably 16.9 and 14, it is ideal to have a powerful engine such as a Rotax 912 or a BMW 1200 like those provided for the VENTURA trolley, and for increased driving comfort, choose the electric trim option.

Wing related options :

  • WINGLETS
Winglets limit the vortices of the wingtip and therefore improve the performance of the wing. Additionally, they provide a vertical surface at the tip and rear of the wing, thus stabilizing the wing in the flight direction by reducing yaw effect.

  • ELECTRIC TRIM
Electric trim is a system of actuators and cable returns between the keel and the top of the trikes mast. By varying the trim we move the center of gravity of the trike in relation to the wing, accelerating or decelerating it. This action has the same effect as pulling or pushing the control bar and spares the pilot effort.

  • CARBON Struts
Carbon struts only concern the ORYX range. Replacing aluminum struts, they reduce weight and drag giving better performance and less wing inertia.

  • PX10
PX10 is a trilam fabric with aramid braces that acts differently in the warp than in the weft. We use it on the leading edges of the wings and it is possible to put it on the upper surface of the SAMSON wings. The fabric is lighter than the traditional trilam and its flexibility gives better handling.

  • TECHNORA FABRICS
Similar to PX10 in the arrangement of fibers, Technora fabric is even lighter. Its transparency also gives a certain aesthetic to the wing.

  • SAIL CUSTOMIZATION
It is now possible to print the patterns of your preference on the under surface of our wings.
